
In 1978, the Toei Company created a theatrical spin-off of their Spider-Man television series, with Shinji Todō reprising his role as Takuya Yamashiro / Spider-Man. Nicholas Hammond first starred as Peter Parker / Spider-Man in the 1977 made-for-television film Spider-Man and would appear as the character two other times. The fictional character Spider-Man, a comic book superhero created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko and featured in Marvel Comics publications, has appeared as a main character in numerous theatrical and made-for-television films. Those three being Paul Soles the voice of Spider-Man, Chris Wiggins the voice of Mysterio and Carl Banas the voice of the Scorpion.Actors who have played Spider-Man in modern film (from left to right): Tobey Maguire in the Sam Raimi films, Andrew Garfield in the Marc Webb films and Tom Holland in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, while Shameik Moore voices Miles Morales in the animated Spider-Verse films.

Since the death of Max Ferguson on March 7 2013, there are only three surviving members from the cast. The meme consists of a screenshot taken at a random part of the series and adding an inappropriate and/or witty text. An internet meme, commonly known as 1960s Spiderman, regarding the series has received an overwhelming amount of popularity. In Canada, it is currently airing on Teletoon Retro. Seasons 2 and 3 were crafted by producer Ralph Bakshi in New York City. Grantray-Lawrence Animation produced the first season.

It first aired on the ABC television network in the United States but went into syndication at the start of the third season.
